Find a housing support corporation by service area in Japan

The Japanese edition of MLIT's housing support corporation list is current as of June 30, 2026. It shows the designating prefecture, corporation, address, service area, duties, website, statutory authorization field for the corporation's own rent-debt guarantee work, contact details and target-group columns including foreign nationals. The list is based on a corporation survey, and a blank may mean no response or non-public information; it does not prove that a service is unavailable. The existence of an English edition is not evidence that a listed corporation offers service in English or any other foreign language. Confirm actual target groups, area, service language, duties, current availability and cost with the corporation.

Who it is for

• Foreign nationals are included among people requiring housing consideration. That does not mean every housing support corporation serves foreign residents. Use the foreign-national column in the Japanese list as a lead, then ask the corporation whom it currently serves.
• Some corporations provide housing information or rental housing help and consultation. Available properties, consultation methods, service area, service language and current intake differ by corporation. A consultation does not guarantee that housing will be found or that tenancy will follow.
• For rent-debt guarantees, distinguish an introduction to an outside guarantee company from guarantee work performed by a corporation holding the statutory authorization. Check both the duties and authorization fields in the Japanese list. Neither entry guarantees that a guarantee contract will be offered or concluded; ask about current handling, conditions and fees.
• Some corporations provide monitoring, safety checks, daily-life consultation or other life support. Not every corporation performs all of these duties, and the eligible people, location, timing, content, availability and cost must be confirmed individually.
• MLIT supplies system information and the list. The prefectural governor designates and supervises corporations. The designated corporation is the contact for an individual question about actual services, availability and fees.

Points to note

• Not every designated housing support corporation performs every listed duty. Do not read a blank as "not offered," and do not infer a service language from the English-language list.
• This is not a resident cash benefit. It does not promise a housing introduction, guarantee contract, lease, tenancy, free service or a successful support outcome.
• Grants, calls for applications, training and deadlines on the official page for corporations or prefectures are not resident applications or resident service deadlines.

A support consultation is separate from any agreement with a housing provider, guarantee company or landlord. Before contacting a corporation, note the area, language and type of help you need. A listed service may have changed or may not currently be accepting cases, and a charge may apply. Housing, a guarantee contract, a lease, tenancy and a successful support result are not guaranteed.

How it works

1. Read MLIT's system page, then use the Japanese housing support corporation list to find corporations whose stated service area includes your prefecture or municipality.
2. For each candidate, check the duties, foreign-national column, statutory guarantee-authorization field, website and contact details. Because blanks include no-response or non-public cases, do not exclude a corporation on a blank alone.
3. Contact the corporation and confirm actual target groups, service area, service language, housing information or consultation, guarantee-company introduction or its own guarantee work, monitoring or life support, current availability and fees.
